II.Theme
Hallo everyone😄✌. Today we're gonna discuss the major theme of Thirteen Reasons Why an how it is relevant to book. But what exatly is a theme? You may think a theme is the same as a topic, but it isn't. A topic is a general subject that is treated by a book or a text. A theme is an idea in a fictional literary work, for example one theme of Dead Poets Society could be "the challenges of growing up". So once we've cleared that up, let's get started❗
The first thing we have to do before we define the major theme is finding the topic of the book we're talking about. So in case of Thirteen Reasons Why the topic is suicide or suicide warning signs. And once we have that we could search a theme that goes along with our topic. So the major theme I'd found out is choices. I think that is the most relevant theme to the book, because the book and the suicide of Hannah are based on the choices which were made and the chain reaction the different/false choices created. Without specific choices Hannah might have never commited suicide. And with some choices Hannah's suicide could have been prevented. For example if Hannah wouldn't have gone to the date with Marcus Cooley (Before going to the date, she actually questioned herself whether she should do this) the chain reaction could have stopped, maybe. Or an another example: Mr. Porter were able to help Hannah but he made the false choices and after the conversation with him Hannah killed herself.
To sum up, the choices which were made in the book are elementery parts of the book, because all choices are in some way connected and in the end they all effect Hannah to commit suicide. With other choices the book would be quite different.
I hope you've enjoyed me explaining my opinion on the major theme of Thirteen Reasons Why. Bye, Bye👋

I really don't know why there is this big red "I" on the upper left corner.
